Zahid pleads not guilty to seven new graft charges

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was slapped with seven counts of receiving graft totalling SGD4.2 million (RM12.8 million) since two years ago.

Zahid, however, pleaded not guilty to all of the offences when the charges were read to him before Sessions Court judge Azura Alwi today.

The Bagan Datuk member of parliament allegedly received SGD300,000; SGD300,000; SGD1.04 milion; SGD1.04 million; SGD520,000; SGD520,000; and SGD520,000 from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd.

The court set RM200,000 bail in one surety and fixed July 31 for mention.
