Wisma Putra: No Malaysians affected in Croatia quake

KUALA LUMPUR: No Malaysians were involved in the 6.4 magnitude earthquake which struck Petrinja, located 60km from the Croatian capital of Zagreb yesterday.
The Foreign Ministry said the Malaysian Embassy in Zagreb had successfully contacted Malaysians living in Zagreb and none have been reported to be in harm's way.
"There are no Malaysians registered as living in the earthquake's epicentre, Petrinja," said the ministry in a statement.
The ministry said Malaysia extended its sympathies and condolences to the Croation government and its people, especially those who have been directly affected by the disaster.
"Malaysia stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time."
It was reported that at least seven people were killed and dozens were injured.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said it is the largest quake to hit Croatia this year.
