SHAH ALAM: The suspect involved in a fatal road rage incident on the North South Expressway (NSE) in Bangi recently, is expected to be charged with murder tomorrow.

Selangor deputy police chief Datuk Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said the 40-year-old suspect will be taken to the Kajang court complex to face the charge.

“The Deputy Public Prosecutors (DPP) office agreed to charge the suspect under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” Ab Rashid said at Shah Alam district police headquarters, here, today.

Two days ago, Ab Rashid said they had completed their probe into the incident which led to the death of Syed Muhammad Danial Syed Syakir, 29.

The investigation paper was subsequently handed over to the DPP’s office.

The statements of over 12 eyewitnesses were recorded during the course of investigations.

The incident took place at about 1.45pm on Aug 10 at KM 293.5 of the NSE.

It started out as a fender bender between Syed Muhammad Danial and the suspect near the Sungai Besi toll plaza, south bound.

Both vehicles were then involved in a chase with one another, until both cars stopped after which a fight broke out between them which prompted other motorists to intervene and calm them down.

They then returned to their respective cars.

However, Syed Muhammad Danial, who was still allegedly displeased, was said to have alighted from his car, armed with a baseball bat and began swinging at the front portion of the couple's car.

The man, in turn, allegedly accelerated his vehicle, which then hit Syed Muhammad Danial and he was pinned in between the suspect's car and the road divider.

Syed Muhammad Daniel died at the Nilai Medical Centre.
