Sabah floods worsen, evacuees surge to 1,680

KUDAT: The number of flood victims in the state has increased to 1,680, from 746 last night.
As of 8am, the 507 affected families from 75 villages here, Kota Marudu and Pitas are sheltering at nine temporary relief centres.
Flood victims in Kudat were evacuated to SK Tun Datu Mustapha, Sk Sikuati and Rest House Lama Karakit.
In Kota Marudu, Dewan Kg Asin-Asin, SK Taritipan, SK Advent Damai and SMK Tandek are being used for the victims.In Pitas, flood victims are being accommodated at Dewan Kg Kusilad and Sk Pekan II.
Meanwhile, 10 villages in Beaufort and five in Tongod are also flooded. However, none of the residents has been evacuated.
