Malaysia records spike of 182 new Covid-19 cases

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded a massive jump of 182 new Covid-19 cases today, involving 181 local transmissions and one imported cases.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said the latest figure brings to 9,810 the cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases, while the number of active cases with infectivity is now 501.

"From the 181 local transmissions, 90 are Malaysians. The single imported case involved a non-Malaysian," he said.

He said there were 14 cases of recovery recorded today, bringing the cumulative number of cases that have fully recovered to 9.181 cases or 93.59 per cent of the total cases.

Nine positive case were being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and no Covid-19-related death was reported today, he added.
