Malaysia in good position to achieve RM70b target for digital investments by 2025 — PM

Malaysia is in a good position to achieve the RM70 billion digital investment target by 2025, in line with the country’s digital economy blueprint.

马来西亚有能力在 2025 年之前实现 700 亿令吉的数字投资目标，符合该国的数字经济蓝图。

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Malaysia plays an important role as a digital investment hub in Asean.

首相Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob表示，马来西亚作为东盟的数字投资中心发挥着重要作用。

“With world-class infrastructure, a holistic digital ecosystem and highly skilled digital talent, Malaysia can be a major digital investment destination in Asean," the premier said at the official ceremony of the World Congress on Innovation and Technology 2022 here on 13th September.

“凭借世界级的基础设施、整体的数字生态系统和高技能的数字人才，马来西亚可以成为东盟的主要数字投资目的地，” 首相在9 月 13日举行的 2022 年世界创新与技术大会官方仪式上说。

Also in attendance were Penang Yang di-Pertua Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan, and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

Since the launch of the MSC Malaysia initiative in 1996, the country has attracted digital investments worth RM384 billion and generated 180,000 jobs as well as RM588 billion in revenue, according to the prime minister. “After 26 years, MSC Malaysia has been rebranded as Malaysia Digital (MD). MD will transform the national digital ecosystem and drive more direct high-impact programmes for Keluarga Malaysia (the Malaysian Family)," he added.

首相表示，自 1996 年推出 MSC Malaysia 计划以来，该国已吸引了价值 3840 亿令吉的数字投资，创造了 180,000 个工作岗位和 5880 亿令吉的收入。“26 年后，MSC Malaysia 已更名为 Malaysia Digital (MD)。MD 将改变国家数字生态系统，并为 Keluarga Malaysia（马来西亚家庭）推动更直接的高影响计划，”他补充说。

Ismail Sabri noted that although MD was only launched in July, it managed to attract foreign direct digital investment worth RM42 billion in only two months.

Ismail Sabri 指出，虽然 MD 仅在 7 月推出，但仅在两个月内就成功吸引了价值 420 亿令吉的外国直接数字投资。

“These investments came in via 28 foreign companies, which are involved in data centres, information technology services, technological creative content, and global business services," he said.

Meanwhile, domestic digital investments had hit RM4.76 billion as of 24th August.

与此同时，截至 8 月 24 日，国内数字投资已达到 47.6 亿令吉。

“Through this effort, 6,000 high-value jobs have been created, and it will continue to grow going forward,” the premier said.

“通过这项努力，已经创造了 6,000 个高价值工作岗位，并将继续增长，”首相说。

The Government has formulated a digital ecosystem to spur innovation through initiatives such as MyDigital, which includes the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and the Fourth Industrial Revolution policy, he added. “The MyDigital initiative also supports the country’s development through the 12th Malaysia Plan to transform Malaysia into a high-income nation, driven by digitalisation, and to be a regional leader in the digital economy,” Ismail Sabri said.

Ismail Sabri补充说，政府已经制定了一个数字生态系统，以通过 MyDigital 等举措来刺激创新，其中包括马来西亚数字经济蓝图和第四次工业革命政策。“MyDigital 计划还通过第 12 个马来西亚计划支持该国的发展，以将马来西亚转变为由数字化驱动的高收入国家，并成为数字经济的区域领导者”。
