Former Tuaran MP Monggoh Orow dies at 73

TUARAN: Tuaran Member of Parliament from 1990 to 1994, Datuk Monggoh Orow, died of old age at the Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, last night.

He was 73.

His remains are being transported to Kampung Tagai, near here, before being conveyed to the Fook Lu Siew Funeral Parlour on Monday evening.

A cremation is scheduled for Dec 24, at 10am.

Monggoh leaves behind wife Datin Zoy Orow and two children.

Born in Tuaran on Jan 17, 1946, Monggoh was president of the Sabah Lotud Language Preservation Organisation, and was an active member of the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO).

In a statement, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau conveyed his condolences to Monggoh’s family, and said he hopes they remain strong in this moment of grief.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family. My heartfelt condolences.

“My humble and earnest prayers for the soul of a man from whom I gained much guidance and wonderful experience,” he said. – Bernama
