Malaysia’s wholesale, retail trade sales up 15.2% to RM128b in April 2022

Malaysia’s wholesale and retail trade sales increased by 15.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) to register RM128 billion in April 2022, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

根据马来西亚统计局（DOSM）的数据，马来西亚的批发和零售贸易销售额在 2022 年 4 月同比增长 15.2%，达到 1280 亿令吉。

Chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the increase in wholesale and retail trade was attributed to the retail trade sub-sector which rose RM9.3 billion or 20.9% to record RM53.6 billion.

首席统计师拿督斯里 Mohd Uzir Mahidin 博士表示，批发和零售贸易的增长归功于零售贸易子行业，增长 93 亿令吉或 20.9%，达到创纪录的 536 亿令吉。

“Wholesale trade also expanded 11.5% or RM6.1 billion to RM59.0 billion. Within the same period, motor vehicles surged 11.3% or RM1.6 billion to RM15.4 billion.

“批发贸易也增长 11.5% 或 61 亿令吉至 590 亿令吉。同期，汽车飙升 11.3% 或 16 亿令吉至 154 亿令吉。

“Generally, the overall increase of RM16.9 billion or 15.2% in wholesale and retail trade was attributable to the Hari Raya celebration and the increase in online purchases,” he said in a statement on 9th June . 

他在6月9日的一份声明中说：“总的来说，批发和零售贸易的整体增长169亿令吉或15.2％是由于开斋节庆祝活动和网上购物的增加。” 

On a month-on-month (m-o-m) comparison, he said the sales value of wholesale and retail trade increased by 3.4%, sales of retail trade sub-sector went up 7.4%, and the wholesale trade sub-sector expanded by 3.1%.

月同比，批发和零售贸易销售额增长3.4%，零售贸易子行业增长7.4%，批发贸易子行业增长3.1% .

Mohd Uzir also said on a monthly basis, the motor vehicles sub-sector decreased 7.7%, which was pushed down by sales of motor vehicles at 16.5%, as the industry continued to be affected by chip shortages as well as higher base recorded in March.

Mohd Uzir 还表示，汽车子行业按月下跌 7.7%，这是由于汽车销量下降 16.5%，因为该行业继续受到芯片短缺以及 3 月份记录的较高基数的影响.

“The index of retail sale over the internet for April 2022 recorded a growth of 24.9% y-o-y (March 2022: 17%). For the seasonally adjusted value index, it grew 11.6% from the previous month,” he said.

“2022 年 4 月互联网零售销售指数同比增长 24.9%（2022 年 3 月：17%）。经季节性调整的价值指数较上月增长 11.6%，”他说。

He said in terms of volume index, the wholesale and retail trade for April 2022 registered a y-o-y growth of 10%.

他说，从数量指数看，2022年4月批发和零售贸易同比增长10%。

“The expansion was contributed by retail trade which increased 16.6%.

“增长是由零售贸易贡献的，增长了 16.6%。

“Similarly, motor vehicles and wholesale trade also recorded a positive growth with 7.2% and 3.3%, respectively. For the seasonally adjusted volume index, it went up 7.9% m-o-m,” the chief statistician said. 

“同样，汽车和批发贸易也分别录得7.2%和3.3%的正增长。经季节性调整后的成交量指数月同比上涨 7.9%，”首席统计师表示。 

DOSM is conducting the Household Income, Expenditure and Basic Amenities Survey (HIES/BA) 2022 from 1st Jan to 31st Dec, and the Annual Economic Survey 2022 (AES 2022) from 15th April to 30th Sept.

DOSM 将于 1 月 1 日至 12 月 31 日进行 2022 年家庭收入、支出和基本设施调查 (HIES/BA)，并于 4 月 15 日至 9 月 30 日进行 2022 年年度经济调查 (AES 2022)。
