BUTTERWORTH: Police snatched an elderly man away from a group of Lim Guan Eng's supporters outside the court complex, here, avoiding further escalation as the former finance minister is set to face a second set of charges today.
Earlier, there was a brief commotion outside the court building when the man started shouting at Lim who had just arrived at the court.
He was just metres away from Lim's supporters when he shouted "robber", prompting nearby police personnel to immediately pulled him away from the crowd to avoid trouble.
Upon hearing this, Lim's supporters rushed to the side where the man was standing but were blocked by the police.
The man was taken away but it was unclear if he has been detained for the rowdy behaviour.
Last Friday, Lim was charged with soliciting a bribe from the company awarded the contract to undertake the controversial RM6.3 billion Penang undersea tunnel project.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge made against him.
